I'm glad my post brought some memories to BRFelix too.

The Venus Belt and full moon are a VERY obvious sight to South Floridians. There is a long and very high over pass we have to take when we visit my mother and we often see that wonderful sight during sunset on our way back home. Sometimes, we'll see a yellow-orange moon that rivals the sun in size from being magnified by our atmosphere. I often say, "I hope we're not the only ones that notice this".
