My favorite dessert order at a restaurant
The sugar is caramelized with an actual blowtorch. I've seen them do it, and if you go to the classy kitchen supply stores, you can buy a nice chromed blowtorch for just this purpose.
A Minnesotan would have described snow after a couple of warm days. Sure can tell that most planetary scientists live down south!
Note that a blowtorch in a methane atmosphere would just need an oxygen tank.
