Look..

I didn't impute that Bowser would do one damn thing or another on this issue, since as I pointed out, he has not as yet weighed in on this one way or the other. I did use one previous example of his incapacity to apply reason to an issue that had nothing to do with the Down's syndrome victim. It's possible you missed the original reference, since you say you read only a fraction of the posts. In fact, maybe you just have no idea what I'm talking about. And you know what? I just don't feel like fishing up that old thread. Ask R.L. to find it.

As for the rest, I'm getting fed up to here with not being able to field anything that approaches an abstract or analogous argument without people around here mentally falling on their face and knocking out a couple of teeth.

"Exercise for the student" is a turn of phrase. Chill out.

I wasn't calling Bowser a Holocaust-denier, and in fact specifically said the analogy was not applied to anyone here. I had to add that caveat because I knew somebody would take the abstraction as a specific.

"Abstraction" means I am not speaking about a Holocaust-denier as a specific case. I'm speaking about the kind of thing a Holocaust-denier is doing, why he might be doing it, and how it affects his own moral status.

The object of the post was to ask the general question: what leads someone to try and find excuses for evil? And how far can they defend evil before one becomes part of the problem oneself, even if one has committed none of the actions? This abstract question feeds back to the specifics of Bowser only insofar as he has fielded a number of posts justifying the actions of the insurgency, finding excuses for them, and claiming support for them that does not exist. To put it simply, although Bowser is not a terrorist in any way, it looks an awful lot like he's rooting for that side.

I deliberately used further examples and people from outside this thread and outside this board, trying to keep some jackass from assuming I was applying these specific examples to Bowser. I used Michael Moore because he has made similar statements, and his position is much more widely known. Now I wish I hadn't gone to the trouble.
