During major space events (such as the Columbia disaster, The mars rover landings, The Huygens mission) this place is the BEST place for second by second info on the web...

THAT is what makes this place truly great- Here is an excerpt from my first post after the Columbia disaster:

I recieve a call early this morning... my wireless phone was downstairs but my answering machine was in my bedroom... I let the machine get it... it was my brother from the east coast telling me that the shuttle burned up on re-entry....

I was stunned- he hung up before I could get to the phone... The first thing I did, before going downstairs and turning on cnn, was log in here...already there were dozens of posts confirming the news... I was stunned

....

The HZ space board is still the place to go during major space events, and is the main reason I am a HZ junkie... In reviewing the posts and threads after the disaster I could see why there may be lurkers from the press- there was a lot of unique data and analysis here that you couldn't find elsewhere...
