White sulfates from Peace grind

After RATting Peace to a good depth, the colour photos I generated show rock and it's associated RAT powder to be a nice white colour. I know aragonite was mentioned, but could this not be a plain old magnesium sulfate, like epsomite or keiserite it's dehydrated form. Aragonite is a calcium carbonate and carbonates are hard to come by on Mars.
