You know, the other thing I was wondering, jms, where else other than the El Capitan outcrop in Eagle Crater did NASA find jarosite? I'm just curious, why haven't we been able to find it in Endurance? My understanding is that jarosite could oxidize to goethite which in turn would eventually oxidize to hematite. So is that part of the answer?
