Turns out it was a series small one line signs:
"EARTHLING PROBES"
"PLOD ALONG"
"TO GET TO SATURN"
"MUST TAKE DAMN LONG!"
"BURMA SHAVE"
I had to use keck to actually read it, but trust me thats what it said!
