"He also wrote a treatment for a series in the 1970s called The Starlost, which bears a resemblance to Robert Heinlein's classic tale Orphans of the Sky - about a crew on a multigenerational starship who long ago forgot they were on one and think it is the entire universe - which was also chopped up by TV hacks and he denied it."

I thought "The Starlost" was a really cool television series. The concept behind it was brilliant. They had Keir Dullea of "2001" fame play the lead role along with Gay Rowan who was a nice looking babe. Unfortunately some of the special effects were a bit poor even by 1970s standards. There's a website dedicated to Starlost at:

If "The Starlost" ever comes out on DVD, I'll buy a copy.
Another old TV SF series that I liked was "The Invaders" staring Roy Thinnes as David Vincent. The flying saucers used in that series were really cool. They were direct knock offs of a fraudulent flying saucer that George Adamski showed to suckers buying his book. Of course, Adamski's flying saucer was supposably real (it was from Venus). ;-)
