I rarely read or post over on the Space Board, but I can tell you from my years at MSNBC Space Science Board that Keith Cowing was loud, rude, angry, mouthy and aggressive, and seeing as he was moving into the spotlight, he would be more careful of how he is perceived in public.
Apparently not.

Keith and Al Staley both are attack dogs who apparently like to be known as the bad boys of the net. RL is picking up where they left off.
However, the web is open for business like a bar, and you can brawl safely on the web, because no-one can punch your lights out when you hit, and spit and create verbal carnage. The nastier they get, the more superior they feel.

I would think this is the bully's way out. Not very manly, not very intelligent, but perhaps that's the way they wish to be perceived??
