You know, I used to have quite a lot of respect for you. Met you at a few conferences, and was excited to meet someone who had really kicked up some shit on the space scene. It doesn't jibe at all with the person who is making posts in your name.

I know that people often establish -- intentionally or not -- internet "personas" that behave in ways they would never dream of doing in real life. This is unfortunate, because the internet and real life are remarkably coincident these days. I recently spent a space conference trying not to be in the same room with Ed Wright, who I will forever associate with his pathetic on-line temper tantrums. Under other circumstances, he and I would possibly be in a position to do some mutually beneficial business at some point in the future -- but thanks to his on-line behaviour, I will always see him as a two-year-old in desperate need of thorough paddling.

I'm beginning to see you in a similar light -- albeit with a somewhat different archetype. Your archetype seems to be the greasy-faced teenager -- think "Revenge of the Nerds," only too irritating and pedantic to make the cut -- who only emerges from his clothes-strewn bedroom long enough to make insightful comments to the general effect of "huh huh, 'booger' is spelled with two O's, huh huh, huh huh,' before retreating once more into the safety of his room.

The next time we meet in person, I'll remind your behaviour in this forum.

And just for symmetry, I'll be sure to mention it to any bystanders within earshot, too.

Sad that it has come to this.
