re: Mourners

I do wonder what might have happened had the US used its revolutionary power to stand up for liberty and justice...

You implying that we should have been invading countries earlier? What exactly is defined by the term "revolutionary power?"

And I don't see Old Europe, the U.N., and other nations who seem to spend most of their time flinging crap at America doing one damn thing to stem the "affronts to liberty and justice" around the world. Africa, for a current example. And why did America have to eventually do the job in Bosnia?

...Shall we stand in the graveyards of Iraq and tell the mourners how much better off they are? Shall we have the nerve to grieve with them and the courage to apologize for what we have done to their worlds?

Far more innocent Iraqis in the past year have been killed by the insurgents than by direct action of coalition troops, although the anti-war body-counters deliberately obscure this distinction.

I recommend spending more time listening to Iraqis "on the ground" and less time listening to Americans who tell you what Iraqis are thinking. Saddam's graveyards dwarf the casualties caused by our troops. Do you think the vastly larger number of mourners of Saddam's victims have no memories or grievances? That they would have preferred the status quo?
