The oil industry alone rakes in over a $100 billion in profit per year.
Not revenue. Profit.
That's over 14 times what the total the government spends on the environment.
And remember, the carbon trading system was originally an American Enterprise Institute idea, until Obama expressed an interest in it.
Also remember, the IPCC estimates on arctic ice melting proved to be way short of what has actually measured. Their estimate was (dare I say it?) way too conservative.
