Space/Science » in reply to The attractive Europa

Titan instead

Hi All

I know that Titan is further away, but surely the landing is easier and there has been a lot more interesting geology happening there. The energy potential to drive a biosphere is an order of magnitude or more higher than Europa - Jakosky calculated that Europa's biological potential was less than ~ 100 million years worth, less than Mars and far, far less than Earth. Barely out of the biogenesis stage.

Titan however is far more interesting and we could park Cassini in orbit after a bit of aerobraking to radar map and act as relay satellite. With all that atmosphere a few balloon probes could cover a huge area.
