I hope and prey that I'm never forced to make such a decision as there is always the chance that Terrie (or someone in a state like hers) could be at least minimally aware of her surroundings, and want to live...but not be able to communicate that desire: I think the chances of that are pretty slim, but there is that possibility.

Of course there is also a good chance that if she could, Terrie would communicate the desire to "Let me die".

I don't fault either side for having the feelings/beliefs that they do in the case. I hope and prey that those closest to the case are really working for what they think is best for Terrie and not some hidden agenda. We all know the talking heads on TV are pretty much trying to spin this terrible case for ulterior motives, and no doubt they have affected this family in ways to turn them against each other so that Terrie's best interests may be the last thing that is taken into consideration.

Its really sad.
