A better solution is to improve the Mexican economy
The best was to reduce illegal immigration from Mexico is to improve the Mexican economy. That's what NAFTA was all about. The United States and Mexico are like siamese twins joined together at the hip. Instead of treating Mexico like a removable problem, we should recognize that there's no way of getting away from each other. By helping Mexico, we help ourselves.
