Many of the ancient mythologies had two gods of equal power, i.e. one "good" and the other "evil" (George Lucas obviously knows about this). A individual could build a life philosophy around one or the other god.
I'm an agnostic and "believe" religion is based upon mythical story telling. The ancient dualistic religions were more rational than the Judeochristian myth based upon a single god and a subservient devil. How do they explain that? If god is supposed to be all good, all powerful and all knowing then why did he create the devil? The standard stupid response is: "Subtle are the ways of god." Followed by a sly grin. Yeah, right! Sorry but that explantion does not compute. Your Judeochristian myth has a huge logical hole in it. You folks need to fix that if you want people to take your religion seriously. My suggestion is to jettison the devil but keep original sin along with human free will. However that'll require a significant rewrite of the Bible both Old and New Testament. Maybe you'll have to change the name of your religion after you're done rewriting the Bible?
