DOS is good for electronics projects

I'm a Linux bigot and also hate MS-Windows. However I like using DOS for electronics projects. DOS is a simple operating system that does not multi-task. With DOS, the only thing between you and the computer's electronics is the BIOS. However despite this simplicity, DOS is smart enough to allow you to run a C compiler under Make and use Vi. With Linux, you're always fighting the kernel when trying to do hardware stuff.
