Mayan Drinking Chocolate

I just had a chance to sample an assortment of 'original' chocolate recipies for Mayan Drinking Chocolate (don't put much by the Original. The Conquistadores didn't leave much culture behind them.... But tis possible that these recipes are close to the Mayan classics)

On of them used Blue Corn Flour and Honey to thicken, and then spiced with cinnomon and citrus. Yum. Like nothing I had ever had before.

Another one of them used Lime, a LOT of Chili spice and no sweetening to thick dark chocolate to produce a thick spicy sludge that was like simmilar to more 'hard core' Indian Chai recipies I had.

Good stuff

Anyway, I have a lead to a website to get more, will let you know what I find. I am rather excited by this- I had heard about this and had had traditional 'cocoa butter' spicy cuisine (think Thai with cocoa butter replacing coconut milk), but I had never sampled it.
