Excuse me for violating the thought police on the SPACE Board. As a net veteran, you must realize that you lose with the 1st mention of the "N word' although maybe you were never on USENET. FYI, relativity was eminently testable and was successfully tested LONG before the N word folks came to power.
Huh. What did I loose. Sorry, I forgot that you consider non agreement discussion persecution by the thought police. Let's be clear, I'm not saying this IS occuring, just curious if anyone else has noted a trend. Watch for it...
Lay off the coffee, and simply accept the fact that what I wrote was simply what I wrote, not some imagined attack on liberals or the start of a new pogrom. Unlike the even more mysterious quantum theories, string theory has produced little science as of yet. QT is testable, however counter-intuitive. (I hope that citing a theory not well liked by Einstein does not somehow qualify me as an anti-semite.)
Well, if I WERE trying to slur you with the N-bomb, I might consider trying it again as you continue to devote your post to sarcasm about it. BTW, I don't drink coffee. I inject espresso into my neck and freebase the grounds. How was SR/GR proven by the 30's? Aspects made sense but it was very untested.
Back to the string folks. The theories get more and more abstract, revised with fashion and continuously untestable over time. Nobody can really tell if they're even anywhere near a right track or not. My stated opinion, free of ethno-political prejudice is that ST is like modern art, fashionable, beloved in academia, but of limited value. Your mileage may vary.
Now we're talking. This would've made a good post with a preamble saying that you thought I'm way off base. ST could be an island in the mathematical topology to which no bridge can be built. It doesn't IMESHO have a limited value if a bridge is found.
