Bummer delux --- Expired ex-Soviet ICBMs can be false economy

I believe there are genuine bargains available from ex-Soviet ICBMs. Lockheed-Martin played it smart using ex-Soviet RD-180 rocket engines with the Atlas-3 and Atlas-5. Likewise Boeing through Sea Launch showed intelligence by using remanufactured SS-18 ICBMs. However I suspect those bargain basement SLBMs purchased by the Planetary Society spent too much time in a submarine's launch tube. It's false economy to use a cheapy launch vehicle with an expensive payload. The Planetary Society should be having frank-and-meaningful discussions with Elon Musk. I suspect Musk could hook them up with a cheap and reliable ride.
