More like a game of "see the future"

What does a harsh repressive Iran bring about in terms of repercussions in surrounding regions, Iraq for example?

The new Iraqi government has a propaganda tool to reach out to young people. "Look, see Iran? Do you want to live like that?"

If Iran nuked anything, they would be wiped clean and the folks they have there working on weapons know that. If even a third of Israel's nuclear deterrent were utilized against Iran, almost no one would survive. Iran has no hardened facilities for their population and their food supplies and environment are particularly vulnerable leaving the nation a wasteland for the next fifty years.

What's more, the rest of the world wouldn't condemn Israel for doing so - and even if they did what could they do? Nuke them again?

Only idiots contemplate nuking Israel. This new guy is just another power hungry politician who uses religion and hatred to augment his power. Hate is a powerful tool. Using hate to solidify your support and weaken that of your opponent is an age-old tactic. He's no more eager to die than anyone else. This is just an obligatory power consolidation rant - to keep the illiterates all fired up as he sweeps out some of their rights. This he must do to appease the religious folks who want more power as well and who helped bring about his victory.

Religion, power and ignorance. The triangle can't stand if any of the sides are absent.
