The use of compression algorithms present the same problems. The question is, is there a timing signal used? That's what you detect - thus probably the best hope is for the detection of ET radar systems. One important technique here is the use of levels per bit, rather than simple latches at 1 or 0 - by using this, summing signals over time might allow the recovery of any timing signal from from the noise. This technique is very computationally intensive, and one key question initial question that must be answered befoer the technique is used is "How long a period of time do you need to sum over?" Calculation should be able to provide an answer in each case before any observations are made.
