There is plenty we (and I'm sure YOU) don't know.
Theories, along with predictions, must be given a voice and not ridiculed. All advances in science start from the practise of thought.
Your negative feedback doled out on a young impressionable mind would send their thought processes in reverse.

I think you have a serious ego problem.
