Just a sidebar...
Sounds like you have two young ones. My oldest is heading for college, my second for high school. After all these years, I'm STILL figuring out how to be a Dad.
But one thing I have learned: your gut instincts on the right thing to do are right a lot more often than they aren't, and they're right a HELL of a lot more often than many of the "experts" are.
You're doing just fine with the reading. And probably everything else, too.
