Highly purified nerve gas has an indefinite shelf life. Binary nerve gas precursors also have an indefinite shelf life. Even if a shell has deteriorated so that its content has been 90% destroyed, it would still be far too dangerous to destroy in any routine way. Nerve gas shells are different in design from ordinary high explosive shells. The remnant should be easily identifiable. They have never surfaced.
How were they destroyed? By burning in open air? I doubt it.
It takes specialized knowledge and care to destroy nerve gas shells. The remnants would display unique structure and traces of their previous contents.
If the shells were drilled and drained, what happened to the empty shells? What happened to the chemicals that were removed?
The entire story that they were destroyed and nobody knows where the pieces are is far too difficult to believe. They must be SOMEWHERE. Where?
