Err, no. Democrats for the most part were not screaming either. Got any evidence for this myth?
I've had to sit here for many months and listen to the constant declarations that Clinton, the Democrats, Clarke, and all the rest were beating the drums in early 2001 about what a threat al Qaeda is, and that Bush should make it his top priority.
How if only Al Gore had been President, he would have rushed down to the flight schools and personally hauled the terrorists away for the crime of Taking Flight Lessons While Saudi.
Everything would have been so DIFFERENT with the Democrats in charge.
And you, apparently, have been hearing none of this.
As for the main issue, the "outing" of Plame? The one I'm "avoiding?"
There isn't one.
It's being held up in the press by sheer bluff, noise, and synthetic indignation, in hopes that some impression will be made on voters.
Maybe you've forgotten that, back when it looked like their reporters were the ones in the crosshairs, the news media submitted extensive documentation to the court to show that no crime had been committed. They turned that around damn fast when it started to look like they had a hated Bush administration member in the crosshairs again. It's a non-issue, and most people figured that out two weeks ago. The stragglers will hang on for a while longer, just like with all the other "flaps" that were generated in the past year.

I'm sorry. Are we living on the same planet?
