They are determined to take as many of the rest of us with them as possible.

AQ is a victom of it's own arrogance. Muslim people are realizing AQ will kill them for no reason other than they happen to be near a target. They are realizing they are not after freedom for Muslim people as Afghanistan/Soviet connections might suggest, but rather freedom from western/European influence. They are realizing they are fighting for forms of government most muslims don't want. That's my impression based on recent polls showing major drops in support for AQ around the muslim world. Either the US is winning the battle for hearts and minds or AQ is single handedly loosing it. Problem is even an order of magnitude drop compared to the recent factor of 2 would still leave pleny of idiot recruits for AQ.

This will be a long fight. We must fight it rigorously to avoid these fools obtaining ever deadlier technology before they finally die out.
