There are almost 1.4 million Palestinians living in Gaza - only around 5,000 Israelis. This map details the distribution of the settlements:

Clearly, having the Palestinians move into Egypt would involve an enormous and impossible dislocation. It also spark immeasurable violence.

Sorry but Sharon has got the right idea. Get the Israelis in these hard to defend settlements out of harm's way and tell the Palestinains to stay on their side of the border.
