"Carter said, however, that terrorist acts could not be justified, and that while Guantanamo "may be an aggravating factor ... it's not the basis of terrorism."

So what is a basis for terrorism?

Is there any possible justification for 911?

How about we make it a bit more personal for Carter, was there any justification for Iranians holding Americans hostage?

Explanations could be numerous, such as some kids exploring their own verison of Lord of the Flies, ect. But in the realm of reasonable worldviews, any justification?
