We've done this already. History shows that unions greatly increased the middle class in this country. And when that happened the economy grew immensely because that strong middle class had buying power and increased demand throughout the economy.
Ftr, textile workers is a bad example since they are by nature very low wage jobs and were thus the first to
outsource. They aren't coming back, but manufacturing is!
