Often I run into a right-wing non-response to something I've asked that goes something like: "Well will you address this first?" So in general, what does that rhetorical approach really mean? Does it mean:
1) I wish to make a contract with you where I promise to talk about what you want to talk about, as long as you talk about what I want to talk about first?
[If so, isn't it just freakin' rude of you to demand to go first since I asked first and it's my thread, and all?]
2) Or :I don't ever want to talk about what you want to talk about so I will keep stacking things in front of it so we never get to your topic.
[If so, it's even more rude.]
3) Or: I got nothing. I'm just spammin'.
[If you admitted to something like this, I'd giggle and let you off the hook. We are all human, after all. Not holding my breath.]
And if it seems rude to you that I haven't addressed the question in your post that I'm now responding to... well, think about it.
