What I found unexpected and somewhat surprising about report is that Iraqi have 4 times more phones that they had before war. And 5 times the car traffic.
Unemployment is higher according to this report as compared to an earier report- but they qualified it as difficult to get accurate numbers. Another thing is that apparent Security is no longer the top priority for Iraqi- which find hard to believe.
Another general impression I got is that Iraqi want coalition forces to leave and they think this will result in a more dangerous situation. This may seem strange, but it does make a certain amount of sense.
Therefore the plans of withdrawing from Iraq after the elections- by which I mean troop reduction and the contination of transfering Iraq security duties back to the Iraqis- seems like a good idea.
