Average American casualties per day are remaining constant...that was my point. I didn't say they were increasing...only that they aren't decreasing. The charts on this page better illustrate that. Average faatalities per day since the start of the war are 2.32. May and JUne of this year hit 2.84 and 2.77 respectively. July dropped at bit, but the first week in August is now at 5 per day. In otherwords things aren't getting better with time.

The other charts Brookings refer to cite the number of insurgent attacks. These are clearly on the increase with Iraqi fatalities increasing as well.
