Now, tell me. Does an idiot savant understand what it means to be an idiot savant? Does a basketball player, or movie star really know about anything other than basketball or acting?

Does a laser engineer have insight into the world beyond lasers? Enough insight to be an arbiter, for instance?

Some would say the ability to manipulate numbers and formulae doesn't necessarily translate into wisdom regarding the human experience. The childish gloating over a typographical error would seem to demonstrate that, wouldn't it?
