Yeah, and our revolution was really French.

Treaty if 1763

After the SevenYears war France gave Britain all its colonies in America. Even though many of the folks living in these regions were obviously of French origin or with French sympathies.

The end of the war also put George III in a huge amount of debt. The stamp act of 1765, two years later was a desperate measure to raise revenue in the colonies.

Considering this was the act that most alienated the colonists, many of whom were French and whom because of it refused to buy English goods-this French anger could be seen as the cause of the US revolution.

Taxation without representation. But the bottom line was a growing hostility to leadership that only exploited the colonies for revenue.

When the Kurds came to the US for assistance, we promised them that we would assist in their revolution. They came over a period of ten years before Saddam was overthrown by US forces in the south and Kurdish and US forces in the north.

By all measurements the revolution in Iraq does not belong to the Shiites (who tried twice and were slaughtered en masse) but by the Kurds who were actually fighting with their own regiments and forces.

The Kurds helped bring the US to the party. Had they never came and pleaded for assistance, we would never have jumped in so far nor would we have been able to accomplish the lightning swift victory in both the south and the north. Kurd territory served as a staging and deployment area (and still does).

I certainly don't expect these words to make any difference to many readers. Too many have their political axes grinding on the millstone every day of their lives.
