A lot of people used to get their "news" from Johnny Carson's Tonight Show monologues, which amazed and disappointed Carson as much as anyone.

I wonder what will happen to The Daily Show if a Democrat gets into office? I know politics and politicians on both sides will have more than enough goofballs and criminals to keep political satirists going for ages, but I recall that when Bush I was replaced by Clinton, Murphy Brown lost its edge and bite.
