Robert,
I certainly agree that we should not lose sight of the fact that this is a horrible disaster that has devastated real people. And that's precisely my concern. The people affected by this terrific disaster were forgotten.
Its appropriate and necessary to point out the policy and operational failures of our government when real people are affected in real ways. Otherwise why speak out at all.
My concerns have nothing to do with partisan politics. They have to do with the competence of people running this country and how what they do or don't do affects real people in real ways. That's fair game here and it needs to be discussed.
The bottom line is that our spanking new Homeland Security Department has failed to protect homeland safe from the consequences of one of the most likeliest of disasters...a hurricane. We know what hurricanes do. We know what should be done to prepare for them. We know the federal government failed do to do so for Katrina. That needs to be talked about.
Regards,
Donald
