I'll allow that the mayor showed a lack of leadership and planning. (Telling people to bring their own food and water to the Superdome?? Come on...) I'll allow that the state government, through many administrations, has been aware that New Orleans is below sea level for some time, and has not done an adequate job to prepare for a disaster that would come as a result of geography.
Will you also allow that FEMA not coming to the aid of a hospital with open roads is a disgrace?
What I'm seeing here is the groundwork being laid for a defense of government unpreparedness and inaction at all levels.
If you want to post this spin, elaborated with facts, that's fine. I can harvest the facts and reject the spin, and I will.
No matter how you twirl the WWII timeline, it's evident that the Japanese started it.
Yes, but isn't it a little different if you are told that FDR might have known, but let it happen?
Just the same, no matter how you twirl the Katrina timeline, it's evident that the hurricane did it. But isn't it just a little different when you consider what we knew and when we knew it?
Post all the facts you want. We can use them to reconstruct what actually happened in a big picture made up of small pictures kind of way. But I'm not going to sit around and accept the little extras added unless the extras come from more than one side of the argument.
