Thanks Fox. I’ll check that one out. I love weather related stories.
The Amazon review of Isaac’s Storm doesn’t give you the whole Prelude chapter. They missed the part where Eric (the author) describes Isaac listening lying in bed listening to the pounding surf that sounded like artillery cannons and feeling the reverberations vibrate his house. I have seen and felt waves that big, and they are rarely found along the Texas coast. That must have been something to experience.
That telegram to Houston sent a chill through my spine when I read it, knowing what happened to Galveston.
I started reading the book a few days before Katrina hit New Orleans. I am in the middle of it now (I have been spending most of my reading time reading Cub Scout stuff since I am now my son’s Den Leader) It has been weird reading it with Katrina going on and now Rita coming at us.
