One wonders what would have happened if we had kept building Saturns, and maybe moved on to Novas. A long time ago I had a copy of the payload guide for the Saturn 5, back when they thought we were going to launch lots of stuff with it.

But then NASA was designed for developing new things, not accomplishing routine missions.
