Cliches
Both parties have a policy of winning election to gain and maintain power. Both depend on getting campaign contributions. In recent years, the evidence shows that Republicans get most of their contributions from small contributors while a lot of the Democrats' contributions come from well-healed labor unions and wealthy people like Soros.
The tired old Democrat cliche that they're for the working people and Republicans are for the rich is both naive and absurd on its face. Any party that tried to favor only the rich would never gain enough votes to win election, unless you're saying that anyone who works and pays taxes is rich.
