Personally, I think the hardware manufacturers should line up in a public square and take turns kissing Bill Gates' ass for driving consumer demand for new and more powerful computers.
Personally, I think the entire world should be doing that. When you think of the economic activity driven by low-cost, powerful, and widely-available computing systems, I would bet that the economic value of the Windows-driven productivity around the world in many fields dwarfs any money Microsoft and Gates have made directly from their products.
