we could go on and on about it

First of all Fox hasn't said whether he agrees or disagrees in this instance and like you say it is somewhat irrelevant. He made the call on the Black ops post and I made this one. It is not a right or wrong thing or dumb in either case it is a judgement call that doesn't even decide a ball game.

As to judgement calls, I thought your reply to EP on Community was mean spirited and not helpful but god knows EP has set himself up for that kind of thing.

You think there was no significant difference in what she said and the quote. I don't agree and that's what makes the world go around.

I will always be inclined to move a post that misquotes a well publicized sound bite by a public figure. It is my sincere hope that if and when it happens again it will not raise any question of bias. It is at least an objective thing in that if it is in quotes it should be a quote. It is easy to say that something is a paraphrase and that is the proper way to do it.

While you are not a public figure and your comments are not part of public domain, I will gladly give you the same courtesy if your comments are put in closed quotes and inaccurate. Context will not count in any instance.

The biggest flaw in my stand is that I am not familiar enough with the multitude of popular sound bites to make a call on all or even most of them but where I do recognize a misquote or where it is brought to my attention, I will act on it regardless of the politics involved.
