But thats not why I criticize your moving the post. In fact it has little to do with it. I simply pointed out that it would have been accurate as a paraphrase, in the same paragraph I said as much. So your not agreeing is not at all the point here. And so no- its not what makes the world go around, at least in this case.

That you want to debate this point, and not the core point that misquotes are a lousy basis to move posts. That you want to argue that case (what she really meant when she said what she said), and not the case that it was ensuring a tempest to move the post on the stated grounds you gave- This makes concerned, more than I was, about why you moved the post.

If it had been in single quotes, most reasonable people would have found it a valid paraphrase. Sorry, but you can't quibble about what that really meant and actually argue the case, while claiming that your position on the case has nothing to do with finding it offensive. Thats just not really 'buyable'. Not at all.

But the point is that it was not a paraphrase, it was indeed a misquote. So its not about its accuracy as a paraphrase, its about how we go from your/the 'moderator manifesto' to 'FrankC will move misquotes'. Thats what Thge discussion is about. I don't see how you get from there to here. Again, like I said, that you want to argue the other point leaves you wide open to the grief Bowser and Buck are giving you.

Look, I object to you trying to argue the case and saying your position on case has nothing to do with you moving the post. You have never struck me in the top 20 most non-partisan posters around here (not making any claims about myself, notice). Because I have significant faith in Robert, I decided to give you the benefit of the doubt. Okay, you have had that. Its damn thin right now- if you care, thats how it is. If you had defended moving on misquotes, and only that, I wouldn't feel this way.
