I pretty much agree with this analysis.
It was a great pick for Bush...
Why should he care at this point what anyone else thinks?
If the Conservative wing wants to overtly take control the court, then they need to elect more conservatives to the Senate so that every nomination can't be turned into a circus by the leftists and thier willing accompises on the "Moderate right".
They can threaten to stay home on election day, but then that only re-empowers the leftists and the spineless "Moderate right".
With all that said, I trust Bush that this candidate isn't part of the "Moderate right". I have no reason to suspect that Bush would back-stab the right, by nominating a left-winger.
Maybe I'm wrong...
