re: results instead of ego

My current estimate of the impact hazard is that it is large enough to cost justify man tende detection facilities built on the Moon.

By "cost justified" I mean all of it, clean back to WWII, including all, and I mean all, of the lives lost. That figure includes the station.

Oberg points out that the space station is testing systems in LEO, where if they failed elsewhere it would be fatal. That includes on and around the Moon.

My thinking is that while the cost of developing the international co-ordinating efforts has been high, any future effort is likely to have to be internationally financed. While this view is not popular with many HZ regulars, who think the people of the US will pay to go it alone to Mars, I don't think that is the case. The general polls that I've seen seem to validate that view, as does your note.

I think Griffin is off course. God knows what the French think now, having been re-assured by the US since 1981.

By the way, Bowser, Bush Snr took Russia up on its request to join the ISS effort, not Cllinton. Clinton was formerly a governor from Arkansas.
