I am truly sorry that you were turned off to science as a discipline and field of endeavor to enjoy, due to a few human-made regulations and current society limitations.

Perhaps the fact you are here reading and discussing subjects in the field is a sign that you haven't completely abandonded it?

The Universe does not care whether you or anyone else has a Ph.D after your name or not. If you want to enjoy and contribute to the greater understanding, that is your total right.
