drug companies
I was remarking on the rather ridiculous complaint that a drug benefit would pump money into drug companies, and pointing out that ANY such benefit by anyone would do the same.
I suspect that Medicare causes a lot of cash to flow to the medical industry, too.
And yes, it is valid to point out that even this lousy decision by Bush was an improvement over what was apparently the only alternative our leaders were willing to consider (since forgetting the whole thing seemed to be off the table): a more expensive plan by the Democrats.
