Evaporation is just convection.

Remember the three forms of thermal transfer:
Conduction, convection and radiation?

Evaporation is simply convection where the heat transfer fluid also changes state.

Incidentally, you might be interested to learn all three processess occur in stars, moving energy from the thermonuclear reactions in the core to their eventual radiation at their surfaces. Radiative transfer dominates in the sun's core, but convection takes over about half-way out, with radiation taking over again at the surface. In some stars, those with degenerate electron gas cores, conduction is the dominant means of energy transport.
