For instance, Nixon and Kissinger left behind American POWS in Vietnam. NONE of the POWs who were captured in Cambodia or Laos ever came back. The number was equivalent to those captured in Vietnam.
The reason was that their return was conditional upon receipt of American aid to rebuild North Vietnam. That wasn't forthcoming in the mood of the time, and those poor bastards were left.
And Eisenhower left behind ALL of the Americans captured in China and the Soviet Union, mostly pilots. There was a considerable number of those.
The reason was to maintain the fiction that the Soviets weren't fighting in Korea. After all, Korea was a UN action, and the Soviets were on the Security Council.
I'd have never thought the US would leave people behind.
So, maybe the UFO stuff is truer than we know. Clearly this guy isn't a crackpot.
